The Family is a Romanian intergenerational artistic duo formed by mother and daughter, working at the intersection of abstraction. Their collaborative practice explores the dialogue between maturity and emergence, structure and spontaneity, discipline and instinct.
Mădălina Manu began her artistic formation in Romania’s traditional academic environment, studying drawing and iconography while exhibiting from an early age with the Pupils' House. In 2025, Madalina Manu received the Certificate of Artistic Achievement from La Pinacothèque Museum in Luxembourg, awarded for the outstanding quality of her artistic portfolio.
Elisabeta represents a new generation of visual thinkers. She is currently ranked first in her class at the prestigious “Dimitrie Paciurea” Art High School in Bucharest. Her practice is characterized by fearless abstraction, intuitive composition, and a refined sensitivity to rhythm and color.
Working together as The Family, the artists construct a visual dialogue that transcends age. Their collaboration is not hierarchical but relational — an exchange of perspectives, critical discussion, and emotional proximity. The duo investigates how artistic identity is inherited, transformed, and reinvented across generations.
